Movie--2012


I finally got around to seeing the movie 2012.  Sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to start, I pulled out my iPod touch and made short notes of all the things I knew was going to be wrong about this movie. 
For one, Hollywood had probably sensationalized the Mayan’s prediction regarding the end of a great cosmic year. I anticipated there would be many fear based scenes to frighten everyone that the end of the world was coming on December 21, 2012. I was ready to write a critical review about the movie. 
Two hours later, I left the theater feeling much better than when I entered. I enjoyed the film. I got caught up in the technology, suspense, and fast-pace action. It was a doomsday film, but not heavily fearful or emotional. Maybe because Hollywood has made a number of these end of the world movies in the last couple of years. In fact, 2012 mirrors The Day After Tomorrow, starting Dennis Quaid. 2012 also used the scene where the airplane is full of cars and the main cast jumps into one of the cars and drives out of the back of the plane just before it crashes on a mountain top. I think they got that one from one of the James Bonds’ movies.  
 Well, I don’t want to tell you too much more about it, except to say they did explain the prophecies very well. If you have seen Quaid’s movies or any other end of the world films then don’t bother about going to see 2012. Wait until it comes out on DVD.

What's the Message In 11/29/2009?


Looking back over November, I thought about how powerful this month was in terms of numerical vibrations. We had the compelling Master Numbers 11/2, 22/4, 33/6, 44/8, and at the end of the month on November 29, 2009, (11+2+9+2+0+0+9=33/6) we got to experience the triple light energy again.
This is no coincidence that all these Master numbers appeared in the same month.  They came to wake us up to our full spiritual powers and for the regeneration of individual and collective consciousness in preparation for the spiritual and physical changes of our world. 
The 29 is not a Master number, but when we add 2+9, the end result is the Master number 11. 29 is a compound number that deals with the evolution of the soul as it encounters others in this physical realm. Relationships are where we gain experience for our soul’s growth. Will we become our brother’s keeper or his adversary?
The 2 in the 29 is governed by the Law of Duality and free will. Do you choose love or fear; peace or conflict; happiness or depression? 2 is saying the choice is yours.
The 9 in the 29 is pregnant with wisdom and knowledge. A mystery number, it contains all the energies of the previous eight numbers, but always comes back to itself—for example, 2X9=18 and 1+8=9. The 9 is about stages of growth and development.
 It’s calling for you to align your consciousness with higher wisdom. You can’t protest war without having peace within yourself. You can’t fight hunger without first giving from the heart. You can’t love another without first loving yourself. And you can’t have compassion without first forgiving.

Meeting Soyinka-- Coincidence or Synchronicity?


Several months ago, my father received the results of his DNA Ancestry PatriClan Test, describing how one of his ancestors was of the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria.  I had already known of my mother’s heritage, being a blend of African, Native American and European.  However, the most intriguing discovery of my genealogical search through oral history and documents was my ancestors’ involvement in spirituality and religion.
Several of them had been founders of Christian churches, ministers, deacons, church clerks, and Mothers of the church. They were also gifted prophets and clairvoyants. My maternal great-grandmother was an herbalist, healer, mid-wife, embalmer, and poet.
 Because of my own strong interest and involvement in all things metaphysical and spiritual, I wanted to know more about the spirituality of my indigenous ancestors.
Then Soyinka Iyako Ogunbusola came into my life.  
 I thought about Soyinka and her presence in my life and knew that meeting her was no coincidence. The Universe knows when to send the right people into your life, put you in the right place or give you the right lesson to master.       
        Soyinka practices the West African spiritual traditions of the Yoruba people called IFA, and has gone through the rites of passage of Ancestral Veneration into Egungun priesthood, an ancient ancestral secret society.  She has traveled through West Africa continuing her extensive studies of African spiritual systems and performed libations ceremonies in Cape coast, Elima slave dungeons in Ghana, Gorey Island, Senegal, and James Island in Gambia. Soyinka had participated also in the rituals of the Fon people of Togo.
        Beyond Deceptions Myths and Lies is Soyinka’s historical account of the traditional African and Caribbean spiritual systems. Soyinka’s second book, Ancestral Memories, recounts her travels through West Africa.

        I’m looking forward to following the path of African and Native American spiritual systems. Just as a teacher has appeared for my African studies, I have faith that the Universe will send me a guide, an angel, a feather or whatever I need to follow the path of the Great Spirit.

The Power of the 44


Most people go through their lives never aware of the power of numbers. Then there are others who understand that numbers, colors and sounds are ways, in which the Universe communicates with us. Numbers speak to us symbolically and a lot of times intuitively. November 22, 2009, is one of those days we need to pay attention to its subtle but powerful energy. The last time this Master vibration graced our planet was in 1910, and will not come again until 2018. Why not take a moment to listen to its message? 
       But first you should know that November 22, 2009, adds up to the Master Number 44/8. Just add all the numbers until you arrive at a single digit.

11+22+2+0+0+9=44/8
                       
Except in the case of Master numbers, like the 44, you would write it as 44/8 to show its full range of power:
  • The 44/8 requires a knowledge and understanding of all the seven Hermetic or Universal Laws.
  • Its symbol or geometrical relation is an octahedron -a polyhedron having eight faces. 
  • In the Tarot deck, the Major Arcane card "Strength" (8) is about fortitude and compassion. 
  • The 44/8 is aware of light (11/2), able to transmute darkness into light (22/4) and heal humanity with love and light (33/6) to bring heaven to earth –Adeptship (44/8).
The significant message of this day is to get in line with the energies of Adeptship. The two key qualities of this vibration to help you are discipline (4) + effort (4) that results in manifestation of ones dreams or goals in the material realm (8) for the betterment of humanity. At this stage of the game you are a Master of the light and not in competition with anyone else. You know who you are regardless what others are doing or saying. The following excerpt is from an article that I wrote when President Barack Obama became- President-elect that I think clearly illustrates the path of Adeptship.
As the 44th president, Barack Obama will have the awesome task of being the Wayshower for humanity, using good leadership skills, divine creative energy and faith to lead us through a period of darkness. He will be tested as most souls are to remain in the light. We have already seen this in the events surrounding the election and the recent scandal regarding his vacated Senate seat. However, Obama is on the path of spiritual evolution and has the guidance of his Master teachers. He has to listen and trust his inner voice regardless of what is occurring in the external world. The lesson of the true adept is to bring heaven to earth.       

Let the vibration of the Master Number 44 speak to you today.

Are You an African-Native American Who Has Been Invisible in the History of America?


I had a great Friday the 13th attending The Indivisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas Symposium at the National Museum of the American Indian located in Washington D.C.  It was my first time connecting with people who have a similar heritage as mine. We are African-Native Americans who have been largely invisible in the history of this country. 
       
The symposium (view the webcast at http://www.nmai.si.edu/webcasts/) gave us the opportunity to share our stories and helped with the healing process of non-acceptance in American society. We told the stories of our grand and sometimes great-grandparents' struggle to be who they were--a blend of African, Native American and in many cases Euro descent. But also we shared our own identity struggles.

As children we were often ridiculed when we told others we had a grandparent or great-grandparent of Native American heritage. The response would often go like this: you don’t want to be black; you don’t have high cheek bones or a straight nose, or Indian hair. What tribe are you? Then comes the question…how much Indian blood do you have?


There is a rich history of the African-Native American relationship that has been twisted or untold. Africans have been co-mingling with the Native Indians of this country before it was known as America.

I believe the exhibit and symposium are steps in rewriting that history. I left with this powerful revelation about my African-Native American identity: I don’t have to prove who I am and I don’t need anyone else to tell me who I am. I know who I am.

P.S. I’m in the process of writing my story and plan to share it at a later date. The most wonderful thing about this journey for me has been to discover how my indigenous roots have been the driving force for my spirituality.

Are you afraid of Friday 13th?


Paraskavedekatriaphobia or Trishkaidekphobia

If you are afraid of the date Friday 13th, then you have Paraskavedekatriaphobia. You may fear leaving your home or making any plans on Friday the 13th because you  fear something negative will happen. And this year we have already had two of them, February 13th and March 13th. The third one will take place on November 13, 2009. Those who fear this date will be happy to know that this triple combination will not come again until 2012, when there is a non-leap year.


I know there are disasters that support the unlucky energy attached to this date and number such as Apollo 13, and the mass killing of the Templars on Friday 13, 1307. But it is really unlucky or another one of those ancient truths that has been distorted in history. And based on the Law of Attraction, if we think Friday the 13th is unlucky than we will attract negative things to us.


However, it is interesting that the founding fathers of the USA, who were Masons, revered the number so much they designed the dollar bill around it.

It is one of the Fibonacci Numbers. A Fibonacci Number can be defined as a number that is the sum of the two preceding numbers--the sequence would be 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,45,79, and so on  

There are also 13 moons. When you divide the year up by moons, you get 13 moons of 28 days each, plus one extra day.

There were 12 disciples and Jesus, the Christ, made the 13th and the same with King Arthur and his 12 knights.

In the Tarot deck, the number 13 is the card of death. It doesn't refer to physical death, but refers to the releasing of old beliefs to allow for changes.--new beginnings. 13/4 is also one of the four karmic numbers. 
If you’re born on the 13th, your life path is the 13th, or the compound number of your name total 1ebt from a past life need to be pay in the form of hard work and discipline. The 3 is about self expression and being social. You have to be careful with the spoken word and the tendency to let others do the work for you.
