Dear Friends,

Fasten your spiritual seatbelt and prepare for warp drive. Within the next few weeks, three extremely powerful eclipses occur and four celestial bodies change direction, amplified by the June 21 solstice, signaling a period of greatly accelerated change. Eclipses mark important turning points, an opportunity to complete a major life lesson and graduate to the next level; retrograde phases pressure us to release what is blocking us from moving forward, and solstices augment the evolutionary opportunities currently available. In addition, solar activity is increasing; solar flares generate geomagnetic storms, which affect the Earth and all its inhabitants. All this provides tremendous tailwinds for transformation.

This period completes many of the movements that in truth began months earlier. The word “eclipse” stems from the Greek verbs ecleipo (“to cease existing”) and calypse (“to cover”). Eclipses occur in relationship to the Lunar Nodes, the points in space where the Moon crosses the ecliptic (the path of the Earth around the Sun). The Nodal symbol comes from an ancient tool designed for cutting the umbilical cord; Sumerian myth describes the Mother Goddess Mamu using it to cut humanity’s link with eternity, symbolizing our descent from the cosmic womb into temporal time. The North Node, where the Moon crosses the ecliptic as it climbs upwards in the sky, points towards the future, that which challenges us to evolve into greater consciousness and connection; the South Node, where the Moon crosses the ecliptic as it descends, indicates the past, which includes the strengths we have developed as well as our most deeply entrenched patterns and beliefs. 

 

Light encodes information. The Sun’s eclipse by the Moon interrupts the normal flow of solar radiation, destabilizing existing configurations of energy and reorganizing consciousness to a higher level. The amplified pull of the Sun and Moon strongly affects the electromagnetic flow in our bodies, altering neural pathways and trigger points. As the Moon blocks the light of the Sun, the energetic grids supporting creation shift; new archetypes become available and higher dimensions more accessible. With the Sun, Moon, and South Node in Gemini, this extra powerful new moon/solar eclipse induces new channels of perception and new points of reference. Ceres, formerly classified as an asteroid and upgraded to dwarf planet status in 2006, closely squares the North Node in Sagittarius and the South Node in Gemini, highlighting another vital and ongoing cosmic message. Named for the Roman goddess of grain, Ceres' origins date back to the Neolithic Great Goddess, the giver of life. In Pisces, Ceres helps us to feel our connection with all of creation; her tight square to the nodal axis represents an imperative for sweeping changes in how we deal with food, the feminine, and Mother Nature. What are you hungering for? Saturn, another ancient figure associated with the Mother Nature, is in Libra, closely trine this eclipse; Saturnian pragmatism and the necessity for equal, mutually beneficial partnerships is doubled by its approaching change in direction. Whenever a planet turns retrograde or direct, it appears to slow down and 'hover', strongly focalizing its energy and the energy of the sign it is transiting. June 12, Saturn turns direct at 10°27’ Libra, indicating that it's time for heart to heart talks. Since Saturn stationed retrograde on January 25 at 17°14’ Libra, deeper relationship issues have come to the fore -- where we need to take full responsibility for our choices and let go of guilt, blame, and projections of all kinds. What are your relationships mirroring to you? This is also a time of direct, spiritual "downloads", where our inner guidance and creativity are more easily accessed. On June 3, Neptune, the archetype of timelessness and multidimensional consciousness, begins its annual five-month retrograde phase at 0°56’ Pisces, dissolving constructs which prevent us from recognizing our inherent divinity and interconnectedness with all of creation. As Neptune stations on June 3, it also squares Mercury, further fogging our logical left-brain as it increases our intuition and sensitivity; because of its retrograde motion, Neptune lingers at the first degree of Pisces from April 4 to August 4, extending the invitation to open our hearts and experience the wonders of subtle realities, the healing power of unconditional love, and the beauty of unity in diversity. To receive spiritual support and insight, meditate, do art, listen to inspiring music, walk on the beach or in the woods -- whatever puts you in a quiet, receptive state. Beware of spacing-out; that usually means we need to turn our focus more inward, towards more being and less doing. Chiron is also currently in Pisces, widening our access to metaphysical dimensions and broadening unified social movements. As relatively new addition to astrology (1977), Chiron is said to be a galactic visitor to our solar system, a comet trapped in orbit between Saturn and Uranus. Representing a bridge between the physical and metaphysical realms, Chiron begins its five-month-long retrograde on June 8 at 5°29’ Pisces, facilitating the release of trauma and programming that have held us in fear and separation. In mythology, Chiron is the Wounded Healer, depicted as a centaur, a creature both mortal and divine, both human and beast. Chiron reminds us that there is no separation between physical and spiritual, between humanity and the rest of creation, and as we help another, we help ourselves. Chiron teaches that while we learn through pain, we heal through love. (Neptune stations direct on November 9 at 28°08’ Aquarius; Chiron stations direct on November 10 at 0°38’ Pisces.) 

           

On June 4, Jupiter begins its once-every-twelve-years passage through Taurus, where it remains until June 11, 2012, increasing desires for pleasure and peace, beauty and security. (The last time Jupiter transited Taurus was June 28, 1999 to October 22, 1999 and February 14, 2000 to June 30, 2000). In mythology, Jupiter is the king of the heavens; in astrology, the largest planet in our solar system is associated with expansion, comprehension, and conviction. Jupiter urges us to question and transcend the bounds of our parental, religious, and societal enculturation. In Taurus, Jupiter expands our concern with beauty, stability, and sustainability; it also asks us to determine what is most valuable and worthy of our time, energy, and resources. Wealth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. What makes you feel rich? What opens your heart and satisfies your soul? The star Aldebaran, the Eye of the Bull in the constellation of Taurus, is at 9°47’ Gemini, close to the degree of this eclipse. One of the four royal stars of Persia, Aldebaran, the Watcher of the East, is associated with the Archangel Michael; it is also known as the Buddha’s Star and God’s Eye. According to Shamanic astrology, Aldebaran is a portal to the mysteries of the mind and, when balanced with the energies of the star Antares at 9°46’ Sagittarius, a gateway to the mysteries of the heart.

Shake-up in the Astrology World

I’m not an astrologer, but many of my fellow numerologists are. Right now many of them are on the defensive because of the statement regarding an astrological pushback made by one of the astronomers of the Minnesota Planetarium Society. I love astrology, but my concern wasn’t so much about his statement, but more about the timing of it and its relationship to the Great Shift in Consciousness.  

In my previous blog on the Universal energy of 2011, I mentioned that this year is a 4 Universal year dealing with rules, laws and regulations, and the Master number 11 in 2011 will challenge set foundations. This was definitely one of those times. The Great Shift in consciousness shakes up old paradigms to bring awareness to situations and asks us to dig deep into our consciousness to see the real reality. It’s not about the outcome; it’s about awareness.  

On January 10, 2011, the Star Tribune of Minnesota reported that Paul Kunkle one of the astronomers of the Minnesota Planetarium stated that the Earth’s “wobble” had shifted the zodiac signs and astrologers should use the dates where the stars are currently aligned. (See zodiac Chart at end of the blog)  The wobble he is referring to is the precession of the earth’s axis as is moves around. It takes 26,000 years for it to go completely around.     

So who do you believe? Astrologers have defended the present day zodiac signs by explaining that Western astrology adheres to the tropical zodiac, which is fixed to seasons. It has been in place since Ptolemy of the second century.  However, the Eastern astrologers use the sidereal zodiac that is affixed to constellations. The astronomers are sayings they don’t care about relating the stars to human nature; they only report where the stars are in the sky. It seems as if we have the Law of Polarity kicking in: Western astrology vs. Eastern astrology and astrologers against astronomers. Perhaps this event occurred to make us aware of how rules can create separation consciousness instead of unity consciousness in humankind.

Originally, the ancient Babylonians had 13 constellations, but threw out Ophiuchus, the snake bearer. I wonder if they thought 13 was an unlucky number. Anyway, Ophiuchus is included in the new zodiac chart. It has been recorded in mythology that the snake bearer might be Imhoteph, a 27^th century BCE Kemetic/Egyptian doctor, responsible for many medical discoveries. One who has Ophicuchus as his zodiac sign would do well in life and seek out higher education and mysticism.

My birthday is January 19^th, and according to the new chart, I would now be on the cusp of Sagittarius and Capricorn, instead of Capricorn and Aquarius. At the end of the signs in the new chart, the days overlap because the signs don’t begin and end at midnight.  So, I would be a Sagittarian, with my rising sign Ophiuchus.

One argument states that if I was born a Capricorn, I should remain one. The other argument is that you should take on the sign of the new zodiac chart because of the earth axis changes. I’m going to let my astrologer friends figure this one out.

I’m a number person and my birth path is a 3. I don’t think that is going to change. That’s what I love about numerology, unless my mom tells me something different.

Seth Study Group-Kyle's Doubt

Continuation from previous blog 10/5/10

Kyle stood in the doorway of his daughter’s room. She was asleep. He went over and gently pulled the cover up to her shoulders and reached down and kissed her on the cheek. Maria and Karia meant so much to him since he never had a real family; he was raised in the foster care system. He had often thought about searching for his mother, but after he married Maria and they had Karia, he no longer thought about finding the woman who had given him up at birth. Life was perfect until recently. He wished Maria ease up on her supernatural and spiritual obsessions. He had put his foot down when she mentioned astrology and crystal healing at a firm party. Politely changing the topic, he watched as she walked away from the group.  

Once home, they had a heated discussion as they prepared for bed. “It’s not a hobby. It’s who I am,” she said, her face taunt and defiant.

“I’m just asking you not to say anything, because most of the people in my law firm are Christians. People fear the supernatural or the paranormal.”

“They fear it because they don’t know or understand it. I’m trying to educate them.”

“How about just teaching Spanish and leave that up to the religious leaders.”

“That just it, this isn’t about religion. It’s about Truth.”

“What is Truth Maria?” He glanced at her as if she was witness in one of his cases.

“Mahatma Gandhi said there is no religion higher than Truth.” She said in strong, deeper voice than her own.

 “You didn’t answer the question. What is this Truth you keep talking about?”

“As an attorney you function according to your left brain and want a concrete definitive answer, but I can’t give that to you. I’m intuitive-right brain. “She stepped closer to him and put both of her hands on his chest. “ “Truth is inside here,” she pointed to his heart with her finger. “It's about soul evolution, its connection to the Divine Mind, the Earth and each other. Once you know who you’re, you’ll know and understand the language of the Great Architect of Truth.”

“Yeah, and it will set me free.” He smirked, looking into her dark, shinny eyes as chills embraced his body. They were coming quite frequently now, every since Marie had started talking this nonsense about the Great Architect of Truth.

Kyle checked his daughter’s monitor to make sure it was on, and then he quietly closed her door. On the way to the kitchen to get a glass of wine, he stopped at the top of the steps that led to the den on the lower level of the house. Maria was introducing everyone. She was a good teacher and he knew that she would also be an excellent leader. Marie had always been his rock, supporting him through law school and sticking by him until he found the right law firm.

He was torn between returning to his office and working on the stack of files on his desk or joining the group. He had to be in court early the next morning, but the sweet sound of his wife’s voice stirred something inside of him. Not only did they not go out any more, their intimate life was on hold too. Most nights she was already sleep when he slipped into the bed.

Kyle wasn’t a religious man, but tonight he felt like praying to God to spare him. Hadn’t he been through enough in life--the suffering and hardships at the hands of others? Why was God punishing him? Changing his wife into someone he didn’t know.

He took a step down.

Cardinal Crisis in the Galactic World--Are the gods at War?

I’m not an astrologer, but I like to keep up with what’s going on in the Galactic world.  Additionally, numerology and astrology are sister sciences. This has been a frenetic winter and interesting summer for astrologers with the eclipses and now the Cardinal Crisis. This cardinal energy means that because of how the planets line up, we will experience personal and social changes. For example, Misty Kuceris, a Certified Astrological Professional, writes in Pathways, a New Age resource guide that “Considering what the world has been going through, it makes sense that we are about to enter a Cardinal Crisis which forces us to look at old systems and determine new ways to do things so that we are no longer injured by the old systems.” I thought about the publishing industry and how the digital system (eBook) is bringing upheaval to traditional print. Many large chain bookstores are seeking bankruptcy, closing their stores or looking for a buyout. Publishing firms had to restructure their publishing model to stay in the game.  The cardinal energy requires that we reflect on the past, do things different for the future and take action. Personally, this all makes sense to me as I go chasing after crop circles and Circlemakers. Meeting Soyinka-- Coincidence or Synchronicity?

Several months ago, my father received the results of his DNA Ancestry PatriClan Test, describing how one of his ancestors was of the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria.  I had already known of my mother’s heritage, being a blend of African, Native American and European.  However, the most intriguing discovery of my genealogical search through oral history and documents was my ancestors’ involvement in spirituality and religion.

Several of them had been founders of Christian churches, ministers, deacons, church clerks, and Mothers of the church. They were also gifted prophets and clairvoyants. My maternal great-grandmother was an herbalist, healer, mid-wife, embalmer, and poet.

 Because of my own strong interest and involvement in all things metaphysical and spiritual, I wanted to know more about the spirituality of my indigenous ancestors.

Then Soyinka Iyako Ogunbusola came into my life.  

 I thought about Soyinka and her presence in my life and knew that meeting her was no coincidence. The Universe knows when to send the right people into your life, put you in the right place or give you the right lesson to master.       

        Soyinka practices the West African spiritual traditions of the Yoruba people called IFA, and has gone through the rites of passage of Ancestral Veneration into Egungun priesthood, an ancient ancestral secret society.  She has traveled through West Africa continuing her extensive studies of African spiritual systems and performed libations ceremonies in Cape coast, Elima slave dungeons in Ghana, Gorey Island, Senegal, and James Island in Gambia. Soyinka had participated also in the rituals of the Fon people of Togo.

        Beyond Deceptions Myths and Lies is Soyinka’s historical account of the traditional African and Caribbean spiritual systems. Soyinka’s second book, Ancestral Memories, recounts her travels through West Africa.

        I’m looking forward to following the path of African and Native American spiritual systems. Just as a teacher has appeared for my African studies, I have faith that the Universe will send me a guide, an angel, a feather or whatever I need to follow the path of the Great Spirit.
