From Ancient Teachings to Quantum Mechanics
THE SECRET WISDOM OF THE AGES When I discovered Morey Bernstein’s book on reincarnation, The Search for Bridey Murphy, I had no idea that I had unlocked a door to a wealth of esoteric information that would set the course of my life. In fact, this was just the beginning of the many synchronicities that occurred in my search for spiritual truth. Prior to the New Thought Movement, books dealing with esoteric wisdom or metaphysics were not easy to find and once you did they were difficult to comprehend. There were no bookstores or metaphysical shops readily available to the general public on this subject matter. One had to join one of the occult groups or secret societies as they were called such as the Rosicrucians, Theosophy or Freemasons to obtain the knowledge. These groups were labeled “occult” because of their initiations, rituals and secrecy surrounding their origin, beliefs and membership. So, the best I could do at that time was to study about the eastern religions that expounded the ancient teachings or wisdom of the ages.
The ancient teachings tell of the nature of being, the origin of the universe, and the spiritual laws of God. Specifically, they teach that there are two worlds governed by the same spiritual laws. The spiritual world, referred to as the Macrocosm, and the physical or lower world, which is called the Microcosm. We perceive the physical world or earth according to our five senses because we have forgotten how to use our super-sensory powers that are often referred to as psychic abilities. When we begin to remember who we really are, we will then understand that we are spiritual beings having a human experience governed by spiritual laws. We will be able to use our super-sensory powers to “know” that the real reality of life is not the physical world, but the inner planes of consciousness or the spiritual world. When the ancient teachings are viewed using only our mind/ intellect, they are only grasped at the intellectual level and can often be misinterpreted or misunderstood. Whereas, when one is astute enough to let the soul interpret the language of the universe, then the pure essence of the teachings are reached.
So, do not get discouraged as you approach the teachings. Think of them as a rose with many petals that are interwoven, interdependent and interlocked all unfolding according to your spiritual development. You might be asking by now who wrote the ancient teachings? How were they given to humankind?
