Blue Moon


It all started a couple of days ago when I kept waking up from intense dreams. They kept interrupting my normal wonderful seven to eight hours of sleep.  While meditating one morning the valance of the blinds fell on me a few minutes after sitting down. I wasn’t injured. But as I got up to see why the valance fell, I hit my leg, nothing to put a bandage on. By now I am wondering what is going on with me that I am attracting this type of energy. But the question should have been what is going on in the universe?

In November we were graced with all of the Master numbers 11, 22, 33 and 44. But as I studied the cycles of the moon, I discovered that December would have two moons. One occurred on December 2nd and the second one called a Blue moon will happen today, December 31.


The last Blue Moon happened in May of 2007. This phenomenal occurs every 2.72 years. The next one will be in August 2012 four months before the much talked about date--December 21, 2012.  The moon is not actually blue, although there are instances when it actually looks blue due to an atmospheric pollution created by particles from smoke, sand, or volcanic dust which creates a color filter effect. The blue is the symbol of truth and heaven. Dark blue signifies the color of authority and power and will rule the sky of December 31, 2009.

The Blue Moon is not the only occurrence making its appearance on December 31: It’s the end of a decade and beginning of a new one; the numerical number for the day is the mystery and powerful 9; a partial lunar eclipse; Mercury is in retrograde, and, of course, New Year’s Eve. Wow. We are having a surge of energy.

This is no ordinary New Year’s Eve, but one full of endings and beginnings. One that can easily turn your life around if you aren’t well grounded into the Earth’s plane. My skirmishes were minor, more of a warning to remind me about the energy surge. It’s the type of energy I would associate with the Major Arcana Tower card in the Tarot, where there is a swift change of energy.     

So, please do be careful New Year’s Eve because this is not the day or night to be reckless. I have learned to flow with the energy knowing that the light blue sky of the dawn will renew everyone's spirit of hope and calmness.

Put your Resolutions in Alignment with your Numbers and Beliefs


About this time every year I pause and think about the goals I want to accomplish for the coming year. It’s the last week of 2009, and the powerful Light Energy (11/2) is diminishing as the Divine Creative Energy (3) is taking its rightful place in the universe.  

With the start of a new year does one’s life really change? Yes. There is a universal law that states everything is in motion, nothing is permanent. Every new year brings with it a change in universal as well as individual energy. If you know your personal year number and how to interpret it, than you will be able to make the best possible choices for your life. 

The personal year number is calculated by adding the birth month, day and calendar year to get to a single digit. For instance, if you’re born on January 1, 10, 19 or October 1, 10, 19, your personal year number for 2010 is a 5. The 5 offers you opportunities to travel, take risk, and to change your residence, career or job. It is a great year to use the creative process to achieve your goals and bring your life into balance.

Whatever your personal year number might be, I suggest that before you create new goals look at what didn’t work last year.  It would be counterproductive to set new goals without finding out what prevented the previous year’s ones from coming to fruition. In most cases, if not all, there is a belief that prohibits one from moving forward. Find the belief and change your consciousness in order to move toward success. Before you make new resolutions calculate your personal year number, check your belief system and put your goals in alignment with your numbers and beliefs.

Winter Solstice December 21, 2009


Winter Solstice or mid-winter day for the northern hemisphere occurs every year on December 21, when the sun is at its lowest and weakest point. It is the shortest day of the year. Ancient civilizations, which were connected with the cycles of nature, revered and celebrated the day because it meant the coming of the light. December 21 represented a pivot point from which the sun grew stronger and brighter promising warmth for the land. The concept of the birth of the sun  is a pagan holiday that many religions have adapted to their faiths. Do you Believe in Angels? An Interview with Angela McGerr Part II



1. Tell us a little something about how the cards work? The card sets form a multi-level trilogy, of which the Love & Light cards are the final set.  
  • The Harmony Angel Cards message is: How to find the Way of Love & Light by inviting angels into your everyday life. 
  • The Heart & Soul Angel Cards message is: Angelic guidance in linking your heart's desires with your true soul's purpose.
  • The Love & Light Angel Cards message is: Follow the angels way of Love & Light to healing, harmony and heart ascension*.  * Personal Heart Ascension greatly aids Planetary Ascension
Each set of the card set trilogy works fully independently, but the three sets, comprising 144 cards, can also be used together for a very deep and full life guidance reading.  The angels are invoked to guide the choice of cards and both text and artworks, including colours, will aid the user to connect to the angelic realms for healing.  The message needs to be read with the eye of heart, and if followed, is reinforced by calling on the support of the angels drawn in the reading.  The more the user trusts and surrenders to the angels, the more spiritual help will be derived.  Yet the angels cannot do things for us; they can only support us to address any karma and move on in life towards physical and spiritual harmony.  This is the wholeness perceived by the Essenes with which daily communion with angels assists us.

2. The images on the cards are beautiful. Where did you get them? For each artwork I meditate with the angel and ask how they wish to be portrayed.  Then I am given a fleeting glimpse.  I write this down and send it to Richard Rockwood, my wonderful illustrator.  He "tunes in" and receives the image, and can generally, after nine years of working together, get it about right first time.  However, I know immediately he sends it to me if it is right or not right!


3. Could you tell us something about the healing component of the cards? I believe that angels are not really "fluffy" figures, but rays of ultra-high vibration healing involving Love, Light (including Colour and Symbols) that we can invoke to aid and support our own efforts towards physical/spiritual wholeness.  In my courses and Mystery School I give Angelic Light Attunements and teach this type of healing.  At the end of the day it's all about healing!


4. How can the readers get in touch with you and purchase the cards? The Unexplainable-Norway Spiral Seen in Night sky



The people of Norway got an unusual surprise when a blue light seemed to soar up from behind a mountain in the north of the country. It stopped mid-air, and then began to move in circles. Within seconds a giant spiral had covered the entire sky. Then a green-blue beam of light shot out from its centre - lasting for ten to 12 minutes before disappearing completely.  Was it a Russian missile gone bad or a spectacular show put on by the Universe? Do you Believe in Angels?



It’s that time of year when people are more conscious of angels and sharing angel stories. I have a few of my own, but will share them with you another time. Instead, I interviewed an expert in Angelology, Angela McGerr of the Uk. I met Angela and her sister, Joanna, on the Call of the Condor tour to Peru and Bolivia with Drunvalo Melchizedek in 2004. We bonded and have kept in touch ever since. I couldn't help but notice that Angela's name has the word angel in it. It seems her destiny was written in her name. Here’s part I of Angela's interview.

 1. Angela would you tell the readers a little about yourself and how you got involved with angels and creating angel cards?  I have posted a mini-biog on my new website (www.angelamcgerr.com) which includes a little about the strange story of my "wake up" call in August 1999, during an energy healing course that took place at the time of a major eclipse of the sun, and how I was subsequently hijacked by the angels from my business career.  After attending the healing course that started off this brand new career, I started to meditate every day with angels and ask for their guidance.  I soon felt I was being asked to create a multi-level set of angel cards that would rival a Tarot set, but would contain only pure, positive angelic energy.  That's how the first set of the trilogy - the Harmony Angel Cards - was born.  Many other works followed, including the second of the trilogy (Heart & Soul) in 2006, and the final set (Love & Light) has just been published.

2.  Do you receive your information intuitively or through research or both? At the beginning I immersed myself deeply in research of both ancient and modern angel literature.  I was soon guided to the Essene Angelology and to studying this with a view to simplifying this philosophy for a 21st century audience, calling it The Way of Love & Light. 
Then I began to channel information for my writing, and have continued to do this ever since; at the same time I have been taught that spiritually we are part of a kind of Cosmic Jigsaw.  Our understanding - our first "toe in the water" - can begin by learning to work with the angels every day, and if we do this the Jigsaw becomes wider, deeper, and more esoteric as we learn about it.   

3. Some people don't believe in angels, what would you tell them?  We all have free will, but if they knew in detail how my own life was transformed, and read some of the thousands of e-mails from readers and students that I've received since 1999, detailing the way the angels have helped heal themselves and their lives, perhaps they would re-consider......

4. Is an angel the same as a spirit guide? No.  There are many, many levels of vibration beyond our own, beginning with ghosts and earthbound spirits/soul fragments (whom we can actually help in Light Work with Angels - again a healing need!).  Spirit Guides are a higher vibration than this, and they are those who have died, but choose (as part of their soul journey) to return and guide the living with spiritual development; often (but not always) they are relatives or are known to us.  Many people, however, report Native American Guides, priests, nuns or those from former civilisations.  Ascended Masters are on a higher vibration still, because they are perfected souls having no further karma to address, but again, who choose to aid the living.  Above this are Angels, whose vibration is closest to God/the Creator.  Each angel is said to be Guardian of one of the Creator's Attributes - hence their Guardianship roles.  But because their vibration is so high it takes some working with them and self-healing to gradually draw nearer, and thus to feel/see/sense their energy rays more clearly.  In my website section entitled Working With Angels I share the method the angels taught me for invoking them from heart with loving intent and knowing that they are with you.

5. Do angels have gender, race, age, etc? No.  In reality they are Light Beings, but we like to think of them as having genders; for example, Gabriel, Guardian of the Moon is generally regarded as feminine, as is Haniel, Gurdian of Venus, but this is something that mankind feels comfortable with, rather than Divine Truth!
 

6. How do you know what they look like? They can appear in any way they choose.  For example, they can appear as humanoid, especially if that is the only way that they would be understood by the viewer.  Often, though, they appear as twinkling lights, or symbols, or colours, or geometry, or in my case as warm, tingling, strong or cool rays......when I am channelling, hazy light in the periphery of vision shows they are around.  I do not often "see" them clairvoyantly, but I do "feel" their energy clairsentiently and "hear" their messages in my heart, "clairaudiently".  That's how I teach others to communicate with angels, because 99% of people can learn how to "feel/sense" the different angels' rays, but few people can see them clairvoyantly.

7. Would you recommend one or two books on angels for the readers?  The book that guided me most at the beginning is Gustav Davidson's A Dictionary of Angels.  Until I received that book I had no idea that there were hundreds and hundreds of named angels, each with a specific Universal Guardianship; there is nothing in the Universe that does not have a named Guardian Angel, including ourselves.

Movie--2012


I finally got around to seeing the movie 2012.  Sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to start, I pulled out my iPod touch and made short notes of all the things I knew was going to be wrong about this movie. 
For one, Hollywood had probably sensationalized the Mayan’s prediction regarding the end of a great cosmic year. I anticipated there would be many fear based scenes to frighten everyone that the end of the world was coming on December 21, 2012. I was ready to write a critical review about the movie. 
Two hours later, I left the theater feeling much better than when I entered. I enjoyed the film. I got caught up in the technology, suspense, and fast-pace action. It was a doomsday film, but not heavily fearful or emotional. Maybe because Hollywood has made a number of these end of the world movies in the last couple of years. In fact, 2012 mirrors The Day After Tomorrow, starting Dennis Quaid. 2012 also used the scene where the airplane is full of cars and the main cast jumps into one of the cars and drives out of the back of the plane just before it crashes on a mountain top. I think they got that one from one of the James Bonds’ movies.  
 Well, I don’t want to tell you too much more about it, except to say they did explain the prophecies very well. If you have seen Quaid’s movies or any other end of the world films then don’t bother about going to see 2012. Wait until it comes out on DVD.

What's the Message In 11/29/2009?


Looking back over November, I thought about how powerful this month was in terms of numerical vibrations. We had the compelling Master Numbers 11/2, 22/4, 33/6, 44/8, and at the end of the month on November 29, 2009, (11+2+9+2+0+0+9=33/6) we got to experience the triple light energy again.
This is no coincidence that all these Master numbers appeared in the same month.  They came to wake us up to our full spiritual powers and for the regeneration of individual and collective consciousness in preparation for the spiritual and physical changes of our world. 
The 29 is not a Master number, but when we add 2+9, the end result is the Master number 11. 29 is a compound number that deals with the evolution of the soul as it encounters others in this physical realm. Relationships are where we gain experience for our soul’s growth. Will we become our brother’s keeper or his adversary?
The 2 in the 29 is governed by the Law of Duality and free will. Do you choose love or fear; peace or conflict; happiness or depression? 2 is saying the choice is yours.
The 9 in the 29 is pregnant with wisdom and knowledge. A mystery number, it contains all the energies of the previous eight numbers, but always comes back to itself—for example, 2X9=18 and 1+8=9. The 9 is about stages of growth and development.
 It’s calling for you to align your consciousness with higher wisdom. You can’t protest war without having peace within yourself. You can’t fight hunger without first giving from the heart. You can’t love another without first loving yourself. And you can’t have compassion without first forgiving.

Meeting Soyinka-- Coincidence or Synchronicity?


Several months ago, my father received the results of his DNA Ancestry PatriClan Test, describing how one of his ancestors was of the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria.  I had already known of my mother’s heritage, being a blend of African, Native American and European.  However, the most intriguing discovery of my genealogical search through oral history and documents was my ancestors’ involvement in spirituality and religion.
Several of them had been founders of Christian churches, ministers, deacons, church clerks, and Mothers of the church. They were also gifted prophets and clairvoyants. My maternal great-grandmother was an herbalist, healer, mid-wife, embalmer, and poet.
 Because of my own strong interest and involvement in all things metaphysical and spiritual, I wanted to know more about the spirituality of my indigenous ancestors.
Then Soyinka Iyako Ogunbusola came into my life.  
 I thought about Soyinka and her presence in my life and knew that meeting her was no coincidence. The Universe knows when to send the right people into your life, put you in the right place or give you the right lesson to master.       
        Soyinka practices the West African spiritual traditions of the Yoruba people called IFA, and has gone through the rites of passage of Ancestral Veneration into Egungun priesthood, an ancient ancestral secret society.  She has traveled through West Africa continuing her extensive studies of African spiritual systems and performed libations ceremonies in Cape coast, Elima slave dungeons in Ghana, Gorey Island, Senegal, and James Island in Gambia. Soyinka had participated also in the rituals of the Fon people of Togo.
        Beyond Deceptions Myths and Lies is Soyinka’s historical account of the traditional African and Caribbean spiritual systems. Soyinka’s second book, Ancestral Memories, recounts her travels through West Africa.

The Power of the 44


Most people go through their lives never aware of the power of numbers. Then there are others who understand that numbers, colors and sounds are ways, in which the Universe communicates with us. Numbers speak to us symbolically and a lot of times intuitively. November 22, 2009, is one of those days we need to pay attention to its subtle but powerful energy. The last time this Master vibration graced our planet was in 1910, and will not come again until 2018. Why not take a moment to listen to its message? 
       But first you should know that November 22, 2009, adds up to the Master Number 44/8. Just add all the numbers until you arrive at a single digit.

11+22+2+0+0+9=44/8
                       
Except in the case of Master numbers, like the 44, you would write it as 44/8 to show its full range of power:
  • The 44/8 requires a knowledge and understanding of all the seven Hermetic or Universal Laws.
  • Its symbol or geometrical relation is an octahedron -a polyhedron having eight faces. 
  • In the Tarot deck, the Major Arcane card "Strength" (8) is about fortitude and compassion. 
  • The 44/8 is aware of light (11/2), able to transmute darkness into light (22/4) and heal humanity with love and light (33/6) to bring heaven to earth –Adeptship (44/8).
The significant message of this day is to get in line with the energies of Adeptship. The two key qualities of this vibration to help you are discipline (4) + effort (4) that results in manifestation of ones dreams or goals in the material realm (8) for the betterment of humanity. At this stage of the game you are a Master of the light and not in competition with anyone else. You know who you are regardless what others are doing or saying. The following excerpt is from an article that I wrote when President Barack Obama became- President-elect that I think clearly illustrates the path of Adeptship.
As the 44th president, Barack Obama will have the awesome task of being the Wayshower for humanity, using good leadership skills, divine creative energy and faith to lead us through a period of darkness. He will be tested as most souls are to remain in the light. We have already seen this in the events surrounding the election and the recent scandal regarding his vacated Senate seat. However, Obama is on the path of spiritual evolution and has the guidance of his Master teachers. He has to listen and trust his inner voice regardless of what is occurring in the external world. The lesson of the true adept is to bring heaven to earth.       

Let the vibration of the Master Number 44 speak to you today.

Are You an African-Native American Who Has Been Invisible in the History of America?


I had a great Friday the 13th attending The Indivisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas Symposium at the National Museum of the American Indian located in Washington D.C.  It was my first time connecting with people who have a similar heritage as mine. We are African-Native Americans who have been largely invisible in the history of this country. 
       
The symposium (view the webcast at http://www.nmai.si.edu/webcasts/) gave us the opportunity to share our stories and helped with the healing process of non-acceptance in American society. We told the stories of our grand and sometimes great-grandparents' struggle to be who they were--a blend of African, Native American and in many cases Euro descent. But also we shared our own identity struggles.

As children we were often ridiculed when we told others we had a grandparent or great-grandparent of Native American heritage. The response would often go like this: you don’t want to be black; you don’t have high cheek bones or a straight nose, or Indian hair. What tribe are you? Then comes the question…how much Indian blood do you have?


There is a rich history of the African-Native American relationship that has been twisted or untold. Africans have been co-mingling with the Native Indians of this country before it was known as America.

I believe the exhibit and symposium are steps in rewriting that history. I left with this powerful revelation about my African-Native American identity: I don’t have to prove who I am and I don’t need anyone else to tell me who I am. I know who I am.

Are you afraid of Friday 13th?


Paraskavedekatriaphobia or Trishkaidekphobia

If you are afraid of the date Friday 13th, then you have Paraskavedekatriaphobia. You may fear leaving your home or making any plans on Friday the 13th because you  fear something negative will happen. And this year we have already had two of them, February 13th and March 13th. The third one will take place on November 13, 2009. Those who fear this date will be happy to know that this triple combination will not come again until 2012, when there is a non-leap year.


I know there are disasters that support the unlucky energy attached to this date and number such as Apollo 13, and the mass killing of the Templars on Friday 13, 1307. But it is really unlucky or another one of those ancient truths that has been distorted in history. And based on the Law of Attraction, if we think Friday the 13th is unlucky than we will attract negative things to us.


However, it is interesting that the founding fathers of the USA, who were Masons, revered the number so much they designed the dollar bill around it.

Basic 13 Moon Calendar PrimerHere are some additional facts about the number 13: 

It is one of the Fibonacci Numbers. A Fibonacci Number can be defined as a number that is the sum of the two preceding numbers--the sequence would be 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,45,79, and so on  

There are also 13 moons. When you divide the year up by moons, you get 13 moons of 28 days each, plus one extra day.

There were 12 disciples and Jesus, the Christ, made the 13th and the same with King Arthur and his 12 knights.

In the Tarot deck, the number 13 is the card of death. It doesn't refer to physical death, but refers to the releasing of old beliefs to allow for changes.--new beginnings. 13/4 is also one of the four karmic numbers. 
If you’re born on the 13th, your life path is the 13th, or the compound number of your name total 1ebt from a past life need to be pay in the form of hard work and discipline. The 3 is about self expression and being social. You have to be careful with the spoken word and the tendency to let others do the work for you.

November 11, 2009 (2+0+0+9=11), is a day to let the light shine in your life and see it in others. The perfect greeting for this day is the Hindi word, Namaste--the God/Goddess Spirit within me recognizes and honors the God/Goddess Spirit within you. It’s a day of service, sacrifice and meditation. November 11, 2009, is an opportunity for all of us to become a part of the Great Awakening by using this profound greeting of Namaste as we go about our day. Additionally, 11 minutes of silence with the thought of “light and love” at 11:11 A.M and 11:11 P.M will connect you to others and strengthened the electromagnetic grid around the planet. There are many scientific studies showing a direct correlation between human emotions and the magnetic field.  

Within the 11:11:11 are three master numbers.  For those of you new to numerology, master numbers increase the vibration of the single digit number.  They represent the evolutionary hierarchy or path our souls must take to fulfill the soul’s destiny.  The last time this amount of light energy was available was in 1910 and the next time will be 2018.  What’s special about the 11 is that it is the vibration for light and the root of all the other master numbers--22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, and 99.

The 11 is the beginning of this path of illumination to higher consciousness. Metaphysically, the (1) is a perpendicular line standing alone, which signifies truth and separateness. It is like a tree that's rooted in Earth but reaches up to heaven.  In the Tarot card deck, the 11 is represented by Justice, maintaining physical and spiritual laws and must adhere to the  Law of Cause and Effect--Karma. The lower vibration of the 11 is the 2, governed by the Law of Polarity---conflict or peace, which one will you choose?

When the master number 11 appears in cosmic time, it indicates that humankind is being tested to determine if we are ready to move to the next level in the evolutional hierarchy. Have we learned the lesson of who we are—lightbeings having a human experience? And just as important is do we see and honor the light in others? Tips to Avoid Getting H1N1

Whether you get the flu shot or not you, need to read this: Tips to avoid getting H1N1. I received the following via email and I'm sharing it here.

Although I am very much into energetic medicine and spiritual healing, I believe there are things we should do on the physical plane to support our life force energy. The following tips to avoid getting H1N1 are credited to  Dr. Vinay Goyal,MBBS, DRm, DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid specialist) having clinical experience of over 20 years. Presently, he is heading the Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid Clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W).

Tips:

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 infection, in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you're still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1.Frequent hand-washing.
2. Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face.
3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. 
4. Similar to 3 above, clean your nostrils at least once everyday with warm salt water.
5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in vitamin c or vitamin c supplement tablets (make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.)
6. Drink as much of warm liquids, (tea, coffee,etc.) as you can. Drinking warm liquids washes off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

Michael Jackson's This Is It---How was it?

A few hours ago, I sat in the movie theater watching the Michael Jackson’s This Is It, the behind-the-scene rehearsal performances for his London concert. I was pleasantly surprised at the high caliber of the film, but more so of Jackson’s performance. He was at the top of his game considering his age and health problems. I, like others in the theater, was grooving with Michael. For a moment I thought I was at a live concert as the movie audience applauded after each performance.  Michael demonstrated to the young dancers and singers how he was still the King of Pop. Genius is the only word that I can use to describe his artistic ability. His mastery of music and dancing clearly came through on screen. This definitely had the making of an epic tour.  For me it was not an emotional movie, but one that left me with the feeling of appreciating the man and his art. At the end of it, Michael talked about love, especially loving our planet Earth and every living creature on it. As a numerologist, I noted that Michael’s birth path number was a 6 (August, 29, 1958) and the day his spirit decided to leave his body permanently was a 6 (June 25, 2009). And his first name, Michael, is a 33/ 6. The 6 is the vibration of love. His life lesson was to learn how to love himself, which we all know how difficult that was for him. Nevertheless, he gave us his love through his art. RIP, Michael.

My question today reader is--Should sweat lodges be be banned?

By now you have probably seen, heard, or read about the tragic event that took place in Arizona when three persons died in a sweat lodge. Unfortunately, many people who do not know or understand the significance and history of the sweat lodge are now probably fearful of them. Do you think they should be banned?  I can only speak from my own experience.

Several years ago, I vacationed at the Punta Serena Villa and Spa in Tenacatita, Mexico. Punta Serena is perched atop a cliff side on the Mexican Pacific. Everything about the spa is holistic including the Temazcal Mexican sweat lodge. I was eager to participate because my spirit was weak and drained from being a care provider for my severely disabled son. This vacation was more a time for me to rest and heal my spirit then have fun in the sun.

The Spa was well-known for its Temazcal Mexican sweat lodge that offered a purification ceremony. I had read about sweat lodges and had been told by others of their unusual experiences from seeing spirits to visiting other dimensions. Apprehensive not because what I might experience but because I was a borderline claustrophobic. I could see the sweat lodge from the balcony of my room. It was small in the shape of an igloo.

Putting aside my fear, I joined a small diverse group of men and women as we were escorted down the mountain to the beach. There we covered ourselves with mud and then plunged into the warm bay water. Wrapped in only a towel, we hurried back up the cliff to the sweat lodge were we entered as we came into the world-- naked and head first.

The lodge smelled of sage and the Shaman silently greeted each of us as we settled around the hot stones in the center of lodge. Once inside, my fear of small places dissipated and this is the weird part of my story. I don't remember the details of the ceremony.  I do remember waking up on the grass wrapped in a white sheet along with the other participants. The Shaman was chanting and she eventually rocked each one of us as if we were new born babies. And that's exactly how I felt. My spirit was ready to go out into the world again.
